There’s always that one family member who takes routines a little too seriously. Lights off at a specific time, no noise after hours, and absolutely zero tolerance for nonsense. In one household, that role doesn’t fall to a parent or grandparent, but to a very round and very serious feline. In a viral Instagram video, this cat doesn’t hesitate to put his foot (or paw) down. His energetic dog sibling dares to disrupt the nightly schedule.
Cat makes sure dog sibling won’t interrupt his ‘strict bedtime’ in viral video
Milo, a chubby and famously grumpy internet cat known as “Milo the chonk,” has a hard rule in his house: bedtime is at 11 p.m., no exceptions. According to his owner, it is a routine he takes very seriously. But one night, Milo’s patience was tested. Beckham, the family’s energetic Golden Retriever, decided to have a late-night zoomies session just as the clock struck eleven.
Milo chases after Beckham in a video shared on his Instagram account, clearly irritated by the chaos. At one point, he takes a swipe at the dog as if to say, “Enough already.” The clip then shows Milo following Beckham around the room, repeatedly trying to get him to settle down. Once Beckham finally calms down, Milo appears to guide him toward his bed, like a strict parent putting a child to sleep. Only after everyone was settled did Milo finally curl up and drift off himself.
In less than a week’s time, the reel has drawn nearly 2 million views and over 225K likes. The comments section is full of laughter and admiration for Milo’s no-nonsense attitude. One user joked, “‘It is impossible to run this house’ – Milo, every day.” Another added, “He’s in charge of the humans AND the animals!!!” Some were even curious about what Milo might be thinking, with one commenter suggesting a visit to a “pet psychic.”
With every new reel, Milo continues to surprise fans with his personality (and his commitment to sleep). As his owner noted, Beckham has since learned: no zoomies past 11 p.m., or he’ll have Milo to answer to.
