Bobby – 2-3 year old Bichon or possibly Shih Tzu cross, being fostered in an adult home in Gloucestershire, alongside another dog and visiting grandchildren.

Sweet Bobby was found in a terrible state, matted and filthy, wandering as a stray. His microchip wasn’t registered, and he was so timid and frightened that it took the Dog Warden several weeks of gentle patience to gain his trust.

Only then was he able to travel to one of our very special foster homes – the kind that truly understands dogs like Bobby.

From the moment he arrived, it was clear that Bobby and his little companion Linda had formed a deep bond during their time together in the pound.

He drew so much confidence from having her close – she became his comfort, his safety, and his friend. So, when our amazing foster home kindly agreed to take them both, we knew they were in the best hands.

Just a few short weeks ago, Bobby arrived trembling in fear, flinching at every touch and shaking during the car ride. But oh, how far this brave little soul has come.

Now neutered and gently recovering in the loving care of his foster mum, Aunty Jackie – who has a real gift with the shy ones – Bobby is starting to believe that the world might not be so scary after all. With Linda by his side, and surrounded by calm, patient love, he’s slowly letting go of his fears.

He now accepts gentle strokes, flinching less each day. On walks with Linda, he’s learning to be brave – taking each new step with growing confidence. What once left him frozen in fear now fills him with cautious curiosity. He even looks positively joyful as he trots off for little adventures.

Bobby is well on his way with house training, and although he still carries some emotional scars, he’s blossoming into the sweetest, most gentle boy. His friendship with Linda has only grown – they play together, snuggle up together, and even groom one another.

Our dream would be to find them a forever home together – they truly are the loveliest pair. But if the right home comes along with another kind, confident little dog to help Bobby continue on his healing journey, we’d be happy to consider that too.

What matters most is finding experienced, understanding adopters who can pick up where his foster family will leave off, with the same patience and love.

Bobby is now neutered, microchipped, flea and worm treated, and has started his vaccinations.

If you feel you could be the right match for Bobby – and perhaps Linda too – please email us for an application form.

Preference will be given to homes willing to adopt both Bobby and Linda together – but this isn’t set in stone if the right circumstances are in place.
