7 Places Ticks May Hide on Your Pet

Where Do Ticks Hide?
7 possible places

Ticks can be a severe hazard to the wellbeing of our pets. Diseases like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever can be spread by ticks. It is wise to always check your dog for ticks after being outside, or your cat if they are indoor/outdoor cats, to help prevent your pet from contracting an illness transmitted by a tick.

When inspecting your pet for stowaway pests, you should be aware of a few popular hiding places. These locations include the elbows, between the toes, under the front legs, within the groin, under the collar, and under the tail.

Ticks have been found to attempt to conceal themselves on a pet’s eyelids. Be very diligent while checking for ticks to ensure that you find and get rid of them all before they can affect your pet.

In addition to being aware of where ticks hide, it’s critical to take proactive steps to avoid getting bitten by ticks in the first place. The best way to do this is to discuss prescription flea and tick control with your veterinarian.
