Jackie is a 2-year-old female Chow Chow. She was found as a stray with a heavily matted coat, which explains her current short haircut.
Jackie has been spayed and is described as a sweet girl who displays many of the classic traits of her breed, which are often compared to cats in behaviour.
Jackie can be aloof at first and was initially nervous around men. However, once she begins to trust, she becomes very affectionate and fun to be around.
Her personality really shines once she is comfortable with those around her.
She is good with other dogs and has the potential to live with one, provided proper introductions are made at the rescue.
Jackie does not enjoy being alone, so a home with an active retired person or someone who is around most of the time would be the best fit for her.
Due to her strong prey drive, Jackie should not be housed with cats or small animals, as she is likely to chase them.
She is also not suited to a home with young children, as she can be unsettled by loud noises and sudden movements.
